Web design is methodical and creative, much like me.
I am fascinated by the constant evolvement and pace of the Internet. Given that I currently live in NYC and grew up close by, fast pace is second nature to me. I thrive off the energy of the city and have found working in web design to provide the same kind of excitement.
The depth of creating a website or interactive experience keeps me on my toes and completely entertained. It is like playing with puzzles and mazes all day. How can we push this site further? How can we provide the best experience for the user so they get everything they need from this website? What path will the user travel and what is the best way to get them there? How are we going to best achieve the client's goals? What will the site look like?
Although I initially pursued a career in illustration, I learned that I craved an environment where I was surrounded by different perspectives that further pushed me to think outside of the box. Illustration gave me a great understanding of composition, the importance of negative space and color balance. My background in illustration enhances my work in web design.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) majoring in illustration and graphic design. At SCAD I was provided a nurturing environment that expanded my skill set and knowledge of art. I not only gained a vast understanding for illustration and design, but I was also introduced to the world of photography. With these skills in my tool kit, creating became even more exciting.
Creating is my passion.
They say you should work hard and play hard, but for me the lines blur between where the work ends and the play begins.
